Automate the shipping tasks that slow dispatch down What can Shipster Automate?
Shipster automates the shipping decisions and dispatch actions that normally slow packing teams down. From courier selection and customs paperwork to returns labels, staff prompts, parcel splitting and seasonal rule changes, workflows can be configured around the way each warehouse operates.
Shipping Tasks Shipster can Automate
Courier Selection
Automatically choose the right courier based on destination, weight, order value, delivery promise, channel, SKU and other attributes.
Delivery Service Selection
Apply the correct service, such as next day, tracked, international, economy, DPD Local, Royal Mail Tracked or pallet delivery.
Shipping Upgrades & Downgrades
Move orders to faster or lower-cost services when rules are met.
International Shipping Documents
Generate customs documents, commercial invoices, CN22/CN23 forms and paperless trade documents where supported.
Address & Postcode Checks
Block, flag or reroute shipments based on postcode, country, region, store location or restricted delivery areas.
Store Collections
Change delivery details to the correct store address, apply collection labels and route click-and-collect orders correctly.
Returns Labels
Print return labels automatically for selected products, services, countries or all orders.
On-Screen Packing Instructions
Show staff instructions at the packing bench for fragile items, age-restricted products, gift orders, bundles or special handling. Instructions pop up when the relevant product/order is being processed by Shipster.
Shipping Labels & Utility Labels

Order Queues & Exceptions
Send problem orders into review queues when data is missing, services fail, something looks wrong or manager approval is needed.
Automatically select the appropriate packaging, such as parcel or large letter, for your packing staff or packing machine. Users can override the selection if necessary based on their assessment.
Data Overrides
If you need to override an attribute transferred from your integrated software or courier, Shipster can update any data at the point of despatch.
Document Branding
Shipping documents can be branded according to your instructions, using either a standard Shipster template with logo placement or your own design.
Fill Data Gaps
If a specific data field is consistently missing, Shipster can automatically fill these fields for you, eliminating the need for manual updates. For example, this applies to missing product categories or weights in product batches.
Courier Failover Automation
Automatically switch to backup courier services if a primary service becomes unavailable.
Offers & Discounts
Have relevant offers and discounts print with the applicable orders e.g. a value threshold, product category or destination etc.
Create Barcodes
You might want to generate a barcode for all sorts of processing purposes such as returns.
QR Codes
Shipster can generate QR codes on your shipping documentation for an easier returns process, marketing campaign or tracking.
Partial Dispatch
If only part of an order is ready, pop up the choice to ship a partial dispatch now instead of delaying the whole order.
Delivery Duty Paid
Use rules to add service enhancements that create DDP labels for certain orders. Delivered Duty Paid is when the sender pre-pays for all shipping related costs including export and import duties. This option is only available for the couriers that provide this service.
Paperless Trading
Shipster can be customzed to send customs documentation electronically, namely commercial invoices and airway bills. This feature is only available for couriers whose API is set up to request these documents for the countries that support paperless trading.
Why automate shipping tasks?
Shipping automation reduces repeated manual decisions during dispatch. It helps warehouses process orders faster, avoid missed steps, keep courier selection consistent and manage complex fulfilment requirements without slowing packing teams down.
