We Won UK eCommerce Software of the Year Silver!

We’re a winner, baby! Some great news for Shipster this week - we were awarded silver in the ‘UK eCommerce Software or Extension of the Year’ category at the UK eCommerce Awards.

2021 has been a great year for awards and this one is no exception. Hayley and Tony even managed to attend the ceremony too, held at the 5* Montcalm Hotel Marble Arch in London last week. Jenny Powell, well-known television presenter (Top of the Pops, Wheel of Fortune), hosted the awards.

Guests were treated to a generous number of drinks, including a bottle of champagne per sear (!) and a shot of Jagermeister, which Hayley and Tony took full advantage of.

What are the UK eCommerce Awards?

The UK eCommerce Awards celebrate excellence in eCommerce and online retail spaces, looking at both innovation and technology. There’s also an esteemed panel of judges, who feature in all sectors of eCommerce, making for some tough competition. Judges included Nick Andrews, Senior Search Manager at M&S, Alastair Barlow, Founder of Flinder and interim CFO at Wolf & Badger, and Russ Carroll, Head of Klarna Open Banking.

Categories in the awards included ‘Financial eCommerce Website of the Year’, ‘Beauty, Health & Well Being eCommerce Website of the Year’, and ‘App of the Year’. Categories were kindly sponsored by big names in eCommerce and tech.

What exactly did we win?

We were awarded silver for the ‘Software or Extension of the Year’ category. We were pipped to the post by the brilliant Klevu, an AI product discovery suite - but we couldn’t be happier for their success and are ecstatic to be mentioned next to them.

The award celebrated an innovative tool, product or service that has delivered amazing results, or even changed eCommerce for the better. To simply be nominated for this kind of category was an award in itself, but to achieve silver really cemented the work we’ve put in over the last few years.

Not only did we win silver, but Hayley also made an impact with her special invisibility dress. No, that doesn’t mean she wore her birthday suit, but it does mean she wore a green dress in front of a green screen, so any hope of the perfect picture was scuppered!

Hayley did comment on the win, however:

“This is the category we’ve been most excited about this year and to win silver amongst such an intimidating shortlist is amazing and a real boost for us.”

Tony added:

“It was great to attend an awards ceremony in person and see so many brilliant companies receive the recognition they deserve. Like Hayley mentioned, this category was so exciting for us and we’re ecstatic to achieve silver.”

Damian commented further:

“To add another award to our belt this year is fantastic and really solidifies the hard work that we’ve all put in. I’m super proud of the team for their dedication and perseverance to the product and services we provide. Well done!”
