Learn about our integration with the courier DX

DX Group is a courier and logistics company founded and based in Britain. It provides a variety of reliable domestic shipping services across the UK and Ireland. Since its foundation in 1975 in response to the extensive postal strikes of the decade, DX has grown to become well established in the UK, employing over 5500 workers. They also provide international shipping services through their partnership with B2B Europe and Norsk Global.

DX centres itself on being entirely customer focussed, stating that the company is built on ‘what our paying customers and their customers want’ and ‘a solid foundation of service’. Their customers are primarily businesses that ship to residential addresses largely due to the increasing popularity of internet shopping. They have also cornered a very specialist market in the UK by providing highly secure services such as shipping identity documents. In fact, this how the UK government and foreign embassies ship passports and visas.

The services that DX provides are separated into three umbrella solutions that have multiple options and services within them. For next day delivery for small and high-value items, you should look to DX Express. Bulky, heavy or large packages are handled by DX Freight which also provides scheduled delivery. DX Exchange is what the government, and a further 20,000 members across the UK and Ireland, use for delivering sensitive documents. This reliable, next day service is trusted with the shipment of hundreds of contracts, legal documents, ID cards etc every week!

Find out some of the ways you can customise your DX integration below through the use of bespoke shipping rules:

Create rules from dozens of conditions and commands

Example Shipping Rules

Bulky or Heavy

For parcels that are especially heavy or have unusual dimensions, set Shipster to automatically select a suitable service. Safety warnings for the warehouse staff and delivery person can also be automatically printed.

Partial Despatches

If only a portion of an order is ready to ship, include a pop-up option to ship the partial despatch separately. This ensures certain items do not delay the delivery of the whole order.

Number of Items

Set certain rules to be triggered when there are a specific number of items in an order. For example, select a certain courier service, split into multiple parcel, bundling etc.

Service Types

Shipments can be allocated to specific courier service types according to the conditions criteria you set. The Shipster rules engine does this using your courier shipping codes.

Sensitive Material

Choose to print custom alerts, documents and warning labels to accompany sensitive or fragile items such as legal documents or technology. Pop ups can also be triggered in these instances to warn or instruct warehouse staff.

Temporary Date Rules

Particularly useful in the case of promotional periods, add in temporary rules for orders placed within a certain spread of dates that sends them on a particular service. For example, you may be running a free shipping promotion for orders over a certain price and wish for them to be sent on a cheaper option than usual.

Shipster also has the option to print multiple other shipping documentation such as return labels, CN22s and commercial invoices.

"The service offered by Shipster has been nothing short of fantastic. We switched to a new WMS and Shipster allowed us to integrate seamlessly with multiple couriers, while their Inventory Planner connector enabled us to utilise two powerful systems that previously refused to talk to one another. Overall it’s been a great experience so far!"

"Shipster for us was like a breath of fresh air with regards to our old system. From the first initial onboarding meeting with Shipster, we could tell they were going to be a company that we could rely on to support our business growth. I have found that no request is too big or small, I have found the team at Shipster are always available which in comparison to our old system is a blessing."
